Summer Wrap-up

It has been a busy summer filled with rafting, time off, family visits, traveling, and some working. Chris' family came to visit in June, and we took them rafting in the Royal Gorge on the Arkansas River. We found out when we arrived that they had just re-opened the Gorge section of the river that morning (it had previously been closed due to high water levels). It couldn't have been a more perfect day on the river- huge waves, great rapids, clear skies, and fun fun fun!!

At the end of July, we escaped to Denver and the surrounding area for a few days of hiking, shopping, and relaxing. We were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather and mid to low 70 degree temps while hiking on Mount Evans.

Summer is on its way out now (it got down in the 40s last night), but we are looking forward to fall, changing leaves, cookouts, and football season. GO OHIO STATE!!

It's like time just stopped.

So, today was my first day back at work...it went soooo slow. Everyone was really sweet (only a few insensitive comments). The day just seemed to drag, and I missed my hubby and puppies so much. It didn't help that all I could think about at the end of the day is...tomorrow morning will be one week. I should be getting excited about our 15 week appt but instead, I have to wait until next week to talk about miscarriage and incompetent cervix stuff. I love the fall, but I wish I could just fast forward to the end of November. I'm ready to move on, and I'm tired to being sad and feeling so empty. I know that God will never give me more than I can handle, but I feel like he is going to be carrying me for quite some time.

It's been awhile...

So, it's been awhile since we updated our blog. Alot has happened in the past couple of months. We bought our first home in early September and are still working on unpacking and making the house our own.
We adopted our second puppy in late September. Ole is an 11 month old border collie/lab mix with lots and lots of energy. We love him very much and are now a happy family of four.
We also found out in early August that we were expecting our first child, due to be born at the end of April! However, on Tuesday, we were devastated to learn that we lost our little angel at 14 weeks. Our sweet angel was born at home at 3:30 A.M., probably due to an incompetent cervix. Even now, it is still difficult to write about (even harder to talk about), but through a lot prayer, crying, and reflection- we are starting to move forward. I feel that God has a purpose and a lesson for us with this loss and that He also has great things waiting for us in the near future. I also feel that I have a capacity to love deeper now that I know what is at stake and what can be lost.

BUSY, BUSY

These last few weeks have been very hectic but great at the same time. Chase turned 1 year old on August 15 and got lots of treats and toys : ) We're also getting ready to close on our house on Tuesday and then it's moving time! Chris' dad will be in town in about a week to help us with the painting and lifting and to test out our pool.

The ROLLERCOASTER of house hunting!

So, we began looking at houses and loans and all that fun stuff about 2-3 months ago. After getting preapproved and figuring out a price range, we set off on our house hunt. After a couple days of looking, we came across a house that we both absolutely loved. I was definately below our target price, close to friends and work, in a great area, and had everything we wanted and even some extras! The house had been on the market for about 300 days. We decided to pray about it that night and come to find out that an offer was put on the house the same day that we looked at it. Nevertheless, we were disappointed and upset. However, we remembered that God has a plan and intention for everything that is encountered in life...so the search went on. Two weeks later while out enjoying dinner, we get a call for our real estate agent that the house is available again...the other deal fell through because the potential buyers had not secured the proper funds. We took one more look at the house, said a prayer, and placed an offer. We learned today that our offer was accepted and we are now under contract on OUR FIRST PLACE!!!! It is amazing what God has in store for us...life is one wild ride!

Keeping Pace...

So, we've finally caved in and decided to give this blog thing a try. Moving out to Colorado has been great, and we decided this is a good way to keep everyone in the loop as to what we are up to.
